VOLUNTEER INSTRUCTOR PROGRAM

Do you love the outdoors? Enjoy working with people? Believe in empowering others and building community through outdoor education? Then you might be a great fit for our Volunteer Instructor Program (VIP). Formed as a response to former students who wanted to come back to class and help others along their journey, the VIP Program is a great way to be part of the SARCRAFT mission.

- A proven track to become a paid instructor teaching for SARCRAFT
Interested? Here are the requirements:
- Be in reasonably good physical condition (able to comfortably traverse all parts of the property while wearing a light daypack)
- Clean criminal history and good moral character
- Positive attitude and winner’s mentality
- Have attended at least one, ideally two or more SARCRAFT classes since May 2021
- Basic level of outdoor skills
Duties include:
- Helping with either ONE weekend-length Core class, TWO one-day Essentials classes, or THREE Sunday Afternoon Session classes per quarter
- Job responsibilities may include one or more of the following…
- Assistant instructor: Helping reinforce concepts and make sure students are staying on track, and getting hands-on experience
- Camp host: Helping w/setup and takedown, welcoming and signing students in, prepping materials for Lead Instructor
- Camp cook: Helping to prep, cook, and serve meals
- Photographer: Take quality photos and videos of class events (must provide examples of work to be considered for this role)
