SUNDAY AFTERNOON BUSHCRAFT: TARPOLOGY

JULY 31ST, 2022

NO TENT? WE'VE GOT YOU COVERED >>>

The humble tarp. Nothing but a simple sheet or canvas, silnylon, or even just plastic. But for all of its simplicity, it’s one of the most powerful multitaskers you can carry with you in the woods. It can provide you with lightweight shelter of course, but it also has dozens of other uses spanning wilderness medicine, water collection, firecraft, signaling, and more. You probably already own a few, so why not learn to unlock its full potential?

Here’s what you’ll learn in this half-day class:

  • Different tarp shelter setups for different situations
  • The one-minute emergency tarp shelter
  • How to pick a tarp campsite and how to best orient your tarp
  • Using your tarp for water collection
  • Tarp applications for wilderness first aid
  • The tarp as an ultralight backpacking shelter
  • How to use your tarp for bad-weather firecraft
  • Basic knots to set up your tarp
  • Useful tarp accessories for a better experience
  • And much more

And here’s what else you’ll get:

  • Water and snacks to keep you going throughout the class
  • Unlimited instructor support after class is over

Legendary bushcraft instructor Mors Kochanski always said, “The more you know, the less you have to carry.” Knowing the ins and outs of one of the most common and dependable pieces of gear is a force multiplier – enabling you to do more while carrying less. No prior experience is required, however, we do recommend that you review our FAQs page prior to class.
