CAMPING ESSENTIALS

MARCH 29-30TH, 2025

GET YOUR MARSHMALLOWS READY >>>

Camping is one of America’s great pastimes. From our pioneer roots to the mid-20th-century camping renaissance, packing the car and loading up the family to spend some quality time together in the woods brings back happy memories for millions of us. But what if you’ve never been camping? Where do you start? Maybe you grew up in a family where that just wasn’t your thing, or lived in an area where it was difficult. Maybe you never wanted to, but had a change of heart when you had kids of your own. Regardless, taking that first step into the woods can be intimidating. Where do you go? What do you bring? How do you set yourself up for success, so you have a fun weekend of great memories instead of a miserable experience of wet sleeping bags, bug bites, and burnt food? If you’re just starting out, this class is a perfect way for you to answer all those questions and more.

Here’s what you’ll learn:

  • How to plan your trip and find a campsite
  • What gear to bring, and how to start on a budget
  • Firecraft, and how to build a fire in any conditions
  • How to stay dry and comfortable regardless of the weather
  • How to cook delicious, simple meals over a fire or a camp stove
  • Setting up a tent and other things you’ll need to outfit your camp
  • Dealing with bugs and wildlife
  • Camp hygiene, and yes, how to poop in the woods

And here’s what else you’ll get with this course:

  • Hot, home-cooked meals and snacks to help keep you going throughout the course
  • Unlimited instructor support via email after class
  • The SARCRAFT Beginner Camper’s Guide e-book

This overnight class is a perfect, family-friendly introduction to basic camping skills. Instead of rolling the dice and leaving your first camping experience to chance, come do it the right way with us.
