YOUTH EVENTS

PAYING IT FORWARD >>>

Inspiring kids to connect with the outdoors is one of the most rewarding things we do. Today’s youth spend more time on screens than ever before, and we’re here to change that by introducing them to the beauty, adventure, and life lessons found in the natural world. Through hands-on outdoor skills training, we aim to educate the next generation while fostering a lifelong love for the wilderness. These experiences aren’t just about fun—they’re about preserving the skills, forests, and planet that future generations will inherit.

Whether you’re a Scout leader seeking opportunities for merit badges and rank advancement, a homeschool group looking for an unforgettable outdoor outing, or families wanting to combine a guided campout with practical skills instruction, we’ve got you covered. Our customized youth events are tailored to meet your goals while sparking curiosity, teamwork, and resilience in every participant. Let’s create an experience that your kids will remember for a lifetime.

HOMESCHOOL EVENTS

The homeschool community is iconic for making a classroom out of just about anywhere, and turning anything into a teaching opportunity. Homeschoolers know that the best lessons aren’t learned through rigid instruction and set class periods, but through fostering a child’s curiosity and encouraging them to explore the world. There’s no better place to do that than the outdoors. We’ve been connected with the homeschool community since our beginnings, and the sky is the limit as far as what we can offer your group. From one-off half day classes to full weekend campouts, we can work with you to make something great.

SCOUTING EVENTS

In many ways, Scouting has always been the quintessential youth outdoors organization. So many of us got our start there, and it’s where our exposure to the outdoors and love for the land began. Although times have changes in many ways, we are still here to support local troops doing great work getting kids outside. We offer a wide variety of merit badge opportunities, including Wilderness Survival, Pioneering, First Aid, Search & Rescue, Nature, Forestry, and most of the requirements for Camping and Backpacking as well. Additionally, we can build events around rank requirements from Scout through First Class, and also offer preparation courses for High Adventure trips, including the BSA Wilderness First Aid program.

FAMILY EVENTS

Camping as a family is pretty hard to beat when it comes to creating great memories. And there’s nothing wrong with just packing up the car and going to the nearest state park. But if you’re looking something with a little more depth and instruction, let’s talk. Our family camping events are a perfect guided introduction to campcraft, especially if you’re new to the outdoors. We include lessons on site selection, firecraft, Leave No Trace, camp cooking, knots, shelter setup, gear selection, and much more. And maybe most importantly, it’s a safe, controlled, family-friendly environment – no loud, drunk camp neighbors here. Let’s make your kid’s first campout a great memory.

YOUNG & WILD

If you grew up like we did, you remember the days of playing in creeks, wandering the woods, picking up field guides and learning wild plants, and if you were lucky, getting some old-school woods skills from someone who cared enough to teach you. The only screen in your life was the TV in the living room. A “social network” was the friends you played with. And while those days may be over, we can still give our generation’s kids a taste of the same experience. Over the course of eight Fridays + a weekend campout, your children will learn the basics of woodsmanship, outdoor safety, and conservation. Your kids will also get outfitted with a basic set of outdoor gear which is theirs to keep at the end of class. Although this experience is geared towards homeschool students ages 7-12, we can offer sessions during local school breaks as well.

SARCRAFT YOUTH SUMMER DAY CAMP

Ah, summer camp. Long days, great memories, and foundational education about the outdoors. Our version runs for one full week during summer break for ages 7-12 and ages 12-17. We go in-depth on wilderness survival, bushcraft, plant and wildlife ID, conservation principles, basic campcraft, outdoor cooking, and handicrafts like woodcarving and leatherworking. We’ll culminate the week in a weekend campout that ties all the week’s learning together and gives the kids a chance to test their skills.
