GET YOUR CAMP ON >>>
Do you remember your first campout as a kid? Maybe it was in scouts. Or with your cousins on your grandparent’s farm. Or maybe, just in your backyard. No matter where it was, those memories still run strong. Roasting (or maybe burning) marshmallows, whittling sticks, telling stories around the campfire. And if you were lucky, you had an adult there who taught you the right way to do things – outdoor skills that stick with you to this day. Times have changed, but that doesn’t mean your kids can’t have those same great memories.
Here’s what they’ll learn during this overnight camping experience:
- How to pick a safe, clean, and comfortable campsite
- Pioneering skills – how to build cool stuff with spars, knots, and lashings
- Time tested campfire cooking skills to make delicious meals
- Basic woodcarving skills
- How to reliably build a fire in any conditions
- How to identify useful trees and wild edible plants
- Basic animal tracking and nature awareness
- Real-world survival skills, and what to do if you get lost in the woods
- Classic camping games
- And much more
- Meals included
Knowledge of woodsmanship, outdoor safety, and conservation are all getting rarer and rarer. It doesn’t have to be that way. But it’s on us – if we don’t introduce kids to these things, it won’t happen on its own. Let’s start here.
